Video Drop-In

Video Drop-In provides an opportunity for those interested in viewing an educational video on substance use and/or gambling-related issues. Video topics will vary from session to session. Drop in and find out what we are previewing!

Day Program

Day Program is a closed group that covers a range of topics to support an individual’s readiness to change and substance use/gambling patterns. Some of the topics covered include: Stages of Change, Defense Mechanisms, Balanced Living, Boundaries and Communication.  

Women’s Empowerment

Women’s Empowerment is a closed group for women with substance use and/or gambling issues that are looking for support in a safe and supportive environment. Some of the topics covered include: women in recovery, stages of change, self care/esteem, strengths and goals.

Relapse Prevention

Relapse Prevention is an open-ended group that is for those who have worked through the stages of change and are now wanting to maintain their abstinence from substance use and/or gambling with the support of others. Various issues related to relapse and maintaining abstinence are discussed each week.

Concurrent Disorders (CD)

CD is an open-ended group that supports individuals with co-occurring substance use/gambling and mental health issues, through a psycho-educational treatment focus. Topics related to addictions and mental health issues are covered each week. The CD Group is provided jointly by Muskoka-Parry Sound Community Mental Health Service and Addiction Outreach Muskoka Parry Sound.  

Education

Education is a three-session program that covers issues on substance use, coping skills, stress management and creating decisional balances to make healthier choices, among other topics. The three sessions are offered once weekly over a three-week period and will offer a certificate of completion.

Family Program

The Family Program is designed for any person concerned about someone else’s (e.g. family member, friend) substance use/gambling issue(s). Some of the topics covered may include setting healthy boundaries, communication, enabling and family dynamics.

New Beginnings

New Beginnings is a treatment-focused group that explores substance use issues and covers topics such as integration into society, addressing grief, living in the now, depression and coping techniques. New Beginnings is about new changes and living your life.
